If you did not skinned for the Golden Globes last night, let me fill you in on what you missed: Ricky Gervais was a bore, the fashion choices of Hollywood celebrities at presentation shows continue to baffle me, and a movie that you probably haven't seen won several awards. Meryl Streep was bestowed with another wreath to add to her collection. In sum: nothing groundbreaking took place.

A mostly-silent film about Hollywood in the 1920s, “The Artist,” was favored in three categories – With greatest satisfaction Motion Picture for Musical or Comedy, Best Actor in a Motion Picture, Musical or Comedy (Jean DuJardin), and Source Score. Along with “The Artist,” “The Descendants,” is also considered to be one to beat at the Academy Awards, winning top honors for Best Motion Picture, Drama, and Best Actor in a Motion Picture, Drama (George Clooney). Michelle Williams won Most beneficent Actress for her portrayal of tragic screen goddess Marilyn Monroe in “My Week with Marilyn” in the Motion Picture, Melodious or Comedy
