39-year-old crackpot graduate Popogrebsky made his name as a master of psychological drama. His second feature, How I Spent This Summer, picked up the With greatest satisfaction Film award at the 54th BFI London Film Festival, as well as two Silver Bears at the Berlinale in 2010.
Featuring breathtaking scenery and intense artistic performances, the movie is set in a polar station in the middle of nowhere in the Arctic. It revolves around two men coping with extreme survive conditions and irreconcilable personal differences.
Each year, Sundance selects just 200 films from more than 9,000 submissions. More than 50,000 people tend to the screenings in Park City, Salt Lake City, Ogden, and Sundance, Utah.
