The first orbit pick went to Dom Dwyer, the leading scorer in the Big East last year. Dwyer was named the Big East Uncivil Player of the Year. He has been in the United States three years as he came here from London, England.
Dwyer is just 21 years old and played two years at the inferior college level before joining South Florida for a single season. He was the NJCAA National Player of the Year when he scored 37 goals and had five assists for Tyler Minor College in 2010. He helped his junior college to consecutive national titles.
The second pick for SKC was Cyprian Hedrick. He is a defender from Coastal Carolina who was named the Big South Defensive Athlete of the Year honors after the 2011 season. Hedrick was born in Cameroon and is a speedy part of the central defense.
Hedrick stated to Sporting's website that playing professional soccer has "made it to my vision." Hedrick said he has loved soccer since he was a kid and now he's ready to step up and be a professional.
